Neutral atom quantum computers require atom sorting to be able to achieve defect-free arrays. However, preparing large arrays becomes difficult due to experimental sources of noise like vacuum-limited lifetime and heating from tweezer transfers. Here we work towards building noise-robust rearrangement algorithms through developing the atommovr software. 

Each year the LMU Munich awards the Theodor Hänsch PhD Prize to the best phd thesis from the physics department. This year Alex Impertro won the award for his dissertation „Quantum Gas Microscopy of Interacting Quantum Matter with Artificial Gauge Fields.“ This is a great honour and very much deserved. The Pint of Science is a fantastic outreach event that brings science to the public at bars all over the world. Nayana organized the event at Innsbruck in our favourite bar Montagu. It was a super fun evening with the topic "Inside Quantum Computers". First Roberto Tricario from the Pichler Group gave a talk on the foundations of classical and quantum computation. After that Hannes told the audience, how to build a quantum computer atom-by-atom. Many inspiring questions and discussions followed - as well as some pints of beer. What a great event! Hope to join again next year.

The Bernien Lab keeps growing ever so slighty with Jana, Shuo and Ruiyang joining the dual-species quantum computing and simulation efforts. We celebrated this special occasion with a dinner. We look forward to your awesome contributions! However, sadly we will have to say goodbye to Zifeng, who contributed greatly to our quantum networking efforts.
