The Bernien Lab celebrated the awesome contributions of our first IQOQI intern Yuanzhe (4th from the right) with a spicy hot pot. But sadly, all good things come to an end and we had to say goodbye.
Yuanzhe Hu, arrived in Innsbruck even before the expriments or any of the experimentors did as the lab was being moved from Chicago to Innsbruck in early August. However, he did not have to wait long until he could start his internship. He characterized an AOD setup for creating optical tweezers in the new dual-species laboratory. Not only building a first test setup to create static tweezers, but even writing his own rearrangement code and showing efficient numerical performance as well as proof of principle operation on hardware.
Now Yuanzhe will finish his undergraduate degree at Peking University while at the same time applying for PhD positions.
We wish you all the best for your future and hope to interact one way or another again!
